    1. Dee Ann says:

ITS TOO BAD THAT YOU ARE SO STUPID THAT YOU CANNOT SEE CATS AS THEY ARE. LET ME ASK YOU SOMETHING? DO YOU OWN ANY CATS? I THINK NOT. SO UNTILL YOU HAVE A CAT AND HAVE HAD THEM LOVE YOU THEN NO CATS ARE STUPID. ONLY YOU ARE THE STUPID ONE.

        1. Sheldon says:

Absolutely correct. Stating a hatred for cats is the same self exposure as admitting to voting Republican. Just ewww.

      1. Lois says:

Hi Dee Ann, Just notice that the above was written by a man — someone who only wants a dog who will grovel at his feet, not an animal with a true mind of their own.

      2. Alexandra says:

But how did he get them to hold those poses for 90 hours?! I can’t even get my cat to sit still long enough for a photo! :O

    2. Marilyn says:

These pictures are beautiful! Nate, you are such a jerk! I was always taught that if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all!

    3. Jaci Ballard says:

Cats are very smart!!! You are very ignorant because when you open your mouth all the dumb fell out…idiot!!!

    4. Liss says:

Nate: I pity you for never having known the amazing companionship and intelligence of a cat. You would be forever changed as a person, and for the better.

As for the images. Dang, I wish I could draw even 1/1,000,000th that well. They’re stunning. A few of them remind me of my two kitties.

    5. Steve says:

I think the guys here have “pussy problems” because they all have one. Kitties or as I like to call them “fuzzbags” are wonderful! I’ve been around kitties all of my life.

    6. ZaZen says:

The talent and time required here to do this is extraordinary. The last picture in the group shows that Paul has the talent to draw/sketch whatever his eye sees or what memory serves.

There is no reason on earth to say anything unless you have something positive to say. Those that do otherwise are cowards by hiding behind a screen in some corner of the world.

Paul, these are beautiful and I would LOVE to have the talent you have. Please never stop using it!! My first and second “loves” on this planet are cats and birds…. all else can be found elsewhere in the line.

I’m not claiming that I am faultless, but I am no coward.

  1. Jean says:

Amazing sketches by Paul…….fantastic likenesses and yes, they do look like black and white photos. He’s very talented and I am awed by the fact that he normally spends about 1-1/2 hours on each picture. Incredible gift.

  2. Jaci says:

WOW!!!!…Awesome…hard to believe they are pencil drawings. Very, very beautiful and what a gift you have Paul.

  3. Lisa says:

These pictures are amazing! Paul, you have such a magnificent ability and incredible gift. Thank you for sharing! You are an inspiration and with talent such as yours, you help make this world keep turning. I’m in awe looking at these pictures. While studying these pics, I feel as if I am in Heaven on earth.I’m not necessarily a cat lover but after seeing your pics, you make me want to reconsider. Thank you for sharing. These are truly beautiful!!

    1. k says:

Dear Pete, that comment is rude. The ability to have the patience to so lovingly create are does not define someone as OCD, having OCD is an illness that can be EXTREMLY difficult to deal with, I would suggest you look into the criteria for diagnoses before you trivialise something that can make certian peoples lives quite difficult.

  4. Molly Klemenic says:

    Absolutely stunning!
A word to Nate – “It is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.” Abraham Lincoln

  5. Terra says:

I wish I knew what his technique was…does he use photographs as a base or does he just stare at the cats? If I were him, I’d use photos, but if he just draws from memory that’s pretty impressive.

  6. sharon says:

These are incredible..! I don`t have a cat,but we had one while i was growing up,and several friends have them, they are brilliant animals…!

  7. LouAnn Matlock says:

Lost my pet tuxedo cat of 12 years in February. Would love to have a drawing of her! Paul Lung’s friends are so lucky that he shared his gift with them. Your portraits are beautiful & they just come alive! Want to pet each one of them. Such incredible talent!!!

  8. Victoria says:

I bet he didn’t have a problem getting the cats to hold still for a full 90 hours in the sleeping drawings haha!

  9. inn.ova.tion says:

I’m terrible at drawing still life- and even worse at drawing animals. I just can’t get their eyes right. But Paul- the eyes in your pictures positively SPARKLE with life. I’ve been inspired to attempt replicating the eyes in your sketches. Keep drawing awesome pictures!

  10. Hello! says:

All I can manage are stick figures, and even then I’m excited when I actually get their arms to be the same length…these are amazing. I could only tell that one of them was a drawing, but if I didn’t know beforehand I wouldn’t have noticed it.

  11. Rita says:

Those were AMAZING pictures!!! I used to think I could draw something but now looking at these, mine look rather cartoonish because of the quality of his fur. I still can’t believe some are drawings!!!

  12. andrea says:

folks.. if you draw a still-life of a flowing river you don’t need to immobilize the water. Probebly he sketches a scene and then refine the particulars.

  13. jballs says:

Figured he would have to be Asian to be that incredibly talented at something most normal, white people hate doing. Still, incredible gift.I have this calc homework I was hoping you could look at for me later.

    1. Nerd says:

sir i happen to be a normal, stereotypical, white, female ginger. about as nerdy as they come, actually. glasses, braces, marching band (i play that instrument that no one has ever heard of) and i enjoy drawing. alot.
why does he have to be asian? you apparently can’t do calculus. does that make you a large white male who bullies kids like me?

  14. Jean says:

To those idiots that don’t like these pictures and denigrate them, go back to the holes from which you came and stay there. Leave the rest of us alone to enjoy them. These pictures are fantastic, I wish that I were as talented.

  15. Patricia Hunt says:

To Jean and all the others that are supportive and positive towards this persons talent.. YEAH!!!!!!!! What an amazing thing to bring to me something that I can not believe is a DRAWING!!!!!!!! they look like photos. what talent and obvious love that he has for these creatures. Would love to have this talent. Good on all that support this artist ans boo hoo for all the ones that are just not of the same caliber.

  16. B says:

Amazing drawings. Absolutely beautiful. But I gotta agree with Nate, cats are pretty useless. Now now pussy lovers, my dislike of cats takes nothing away from the talent of the artist or integrity of the drawings. So calm down.

  17. Leonie Cent says:

The real pity is that DeeAnn is so insecure that she needs to retaliate at Nate, because he made a harmless remark, that is a reflection of where he is at in his life, and not a reflection of DeeAnn or cats, or anyone else. Maybe the guy was just venting cos he had a bad day, who knows. When people act unreasonable (in your opinion), try loving them if you want them to change – real miracles are things that happen when you change your perception of something, and who can argue that there are many ways to view any given ‘thing’ in this world ? Peace to all….

  18. stewball says:

If this idiot doesn’t like cats he shouldn’t have bothered to look at the pix as he knew they were of those beautiful animals. I sent my 18-1/2 year old cat to rainbow bridge about 3 months ago. I now have a siamese that was abandoned. I can’t be without cat. Still maybe this guy is scared of them.

  19. Nate says:

All i meant was that I would have liked to see some art of different things besides cats too, never did i say i hated them…

    1. Gerber says:

Nate, there must be some kind of social lesson here… too funny!! I’m over 50, been Dog for most of my life. Converted to Cat about 3 years ago, at the insistence of my spouse. Thought I would hate them but now I see the charms of both.

And yes, Sheldon, I find myself compelled to vote Republican, albeit while holding my nose. The only alternative is too much like New-Age Communism. Amazing how you were able to work politics into this, ha-ha-ha!!

  20. Unknown says:

Guys, lay off of Nate for a second and ask yourself a simple question. Why are you scolding him for his own opinion? We all see in different lights and we need to respect each other and our opinions on things. Nate, before saying something is stupid, please take in consideration what cats can do, and try to see how they are good. Now with that done and said, stop fighting and enjoy these great works of art!

  21. kerry says:

OMG, why is everyone having a go. I came on this site to see the drawings which are absolutely superb.. Thankyou Paul for allowing us to see your drawings, it is an honour. I do hope Paul that you will take the comments about your drawings as a compliment & put aside any other comments for the delete button.
