When you live far away from some of your closest friends, it's easy to feel disconnected, esp. in the everyday kind of things. Blogging helps me feel like a part of peoples' lives who I can't sit down with as much as I want to (including friends who live down the street, but because we all have young kids it's too much work to get together).
