Experiments in getting to the point.

A basic rule of discourse: You ought to at least think you “get it” before you condemn it.

If you criticize and mock something you admit you don’t understand, aren’t you just blaming others for your own ignorance and perplexity?

Great post, Abraham. This, surely, applies to a whole bunch of things. From evolution to federal vision, from calvinism to arminianism. No?

Mocking is unappealing. Especially on a site promoting Biblical Christianity.

Well….I think there are a lot of things I don’t “get” but the part I don’t “get” is why other people do “get it”. Maybe there are different types of “getting it”?

Personally, I don’t get modern poetry–and I don’t like it.

Why don’t I “get it”?
Because I don’t like it.

Why don’t I like it?
Because I don’t “get it”.

I read your post today, and then went over to the link… and found quite an interesting and edifying discussion in the comments. I was blessed by the grace extended and received, and glad to see that perhaps understanding has grown through the interactions.

Nice way to throw stones at an obviously tongue in cheek post. It’s obvious that someone here doesn’t “get it”.
