A basic rule of discourse: You ought to at least think you “get it” before you condemn it.

If you criticize and mock something you admit you don’t understand, aren’t you just blaming others for your own ignorance and perplexity?

    Mocking is unappealing. Especially on a site promoting Biblical Christianity.

    Well….I think there are a lot of things I don’t “get” but the part I don’t “get” is why other people do “get it”. Maybe there are different types of “getting it”?

    Personally, I don’t get modern poetry–and I don’t like it.

    Why don’t I “get it”?
    Because I don’t like it.

    Why don’t I like it?
    Because I don’t “get it”.
