Media may affect message, but so what? We shouldn’t ask “Why?” but “Why not?”

(My entry in the 2008 EO/Wheatstone Academy Symposium)

The onus of defense isn’t on the proponents of new media; it’s on the antagonists who would limit how the gospel spreads.

Is “guilt by association” a good argument in this case?

    Andrew,

I didn’t mean my comments negative against Abraham.

Perhaps the “How?” question is the more important one (and I’m sure one which Abraham and the DG guys ask among themselves). “How does it affect the message?” And “How can we maintain a full, robust Gospel message when using new media?”

It is the “How?” question that the Emergent Village folks seem to ignore (though note Rob Bell, who at least brings this issue to the surface).
