You can’t conquer pride by discarding what you’re proud of.

Arrogance is entirely me deceiving me.

Self-approval enables pride—and self-approval follows me no matter what outward sources of esteem I flee.

    this is so true. i could be stripped of the few talents i have and my ego would scramble to find some way to elevate myself.

    i think that the things we are proud of are only the manifestations of the fact that we are proud. i agree that with or without the things we will still be prideful.

    it’s weird, i was always taught growing up to be proud of myself and what i do, and now i have to unlearn that.
