Don’t trust your standards. They’re too low.

Orison misspeaks this proverb, but it works:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and don’t lean on your own understandards.

    While my husband and I were dating, I misread it as “Trust in the Lord FOR all your heart…” It was a good lesson…to trust the Lord with the entirety of my heart. Misreadings can sometimes be enlightening!

    amen. was it c s lewis who said we human beings are too easily pleased? i agree that our standard is too low sometimes in this world.

    I too had misread some words in the Bible and had to read it again.
