    We bought costumes this year for lack of time, and those are simply never as good as the home-made ones. They may be more “accurate”, but they are never as compelling.

    The year we went as the Incredibles is still a legend in our hometown, and my wife toiled over those costumes — we all did. Sometimes we still wear them as pajamas …
