Most comments yesterday were refreshing; others tried, but struggled; and the rest I junked.

If your remarks yesterday weren’t complimentary or were overly backhanded, I unashamedly deleted them.

Now I’m back to my ordinary, lenient self.

Is this an isolated case of comment deletion, or do you do it at times with other posts? Just curious. I’d find it tempting to delete posts I didn’t like. But, I think it goes against the nature of a healthy comment section to always have a finger at the ready on the delete button.

At the same time–if it’s my blog, I can do with it as I wish. So, I fully support your censorship (esp. in this case- people not quite following the rules you gave for a particular post).

Before yesterday, I had only deleted maybe 5 ever.

I usually abhor this kind ofthing, but I credit you with being judiciously anathemacious.

Personal attacks don’t accomplish anything. It seems many Christians have forgotten that we wrestle not with flesh and blood but with the powers of darkness!

    we’re friends, right?

    can i be honest?

when i read this post, i felt pretty defensive. like, “well…you asked me to do the impossible!!!” (as if i HAD to participate!!!)

anyway. since you let my D+ comment slide, i won’t unsubscribe to you for a few days. you’re staying on the list. a very short list by most standards.

hey. have you ever asked your readers how many blogs they subscribe to?

hey. look. there’s something shiny over there….

Being deleted was a good lesson to me. I was so jaded, that I didn’t even realize that I had been deleted, let alone that it had been for not following the rules. I thought I had just had a posting error.

Or maybe I was just distracted by the fact that I had managed to limit my comment to exactly 22 words.

I just would like to say I appreciate and agree with Orrison’s new statement.

I turned off my puter for 24 hours during the election, it would have been better, maybe, had I left the tv off later that night as well. When I found out who’d won I cried, shut off the tv, and went to bed.

Today is a new day, and we rest in the sovereign providence and perfect will of our Father. Let us use these opportune times to be salt and light.

I have set up some rules on my blog regarding comments.

But I have yet to delete anything. I think this is because I have such a small readership.

I think it’s perfectly fine to delete obscene or heinous comments. The way I think of it is that my blog will possibly my read by my children when they’re older, and I want to guard their eyes.

However, I’m not averse to exposing them to different viewpoints…as long as they’re stated in a relatively civilized manner.
