Oooo … challenge! I’ve got to work up some good material by watching my kids more closely now … :-)
I’m pretty sure which of my children it will be though. I’ve already got a whole string on my blog for “The Emily Side of Life”
:-)
There would be another fun question for you to ask some time … does one of you kids just flat out entertain or intrigue you more often than any of the others?
It’s called “Part of Salvation History in 22 Words”
It’s a story (in poetic form) of what God’s plan is in salvation history. Kids are never too young to learn about the big picture, right? And its poetic form aids memorization, so that it can be retold and retold.
This’ll be my first post on this site cause I can’t turn down a challenge. :)
And kudos to Abraham as well for putting up with his own 22-word rule. Like Jerry said, “That was tough!”
I’m not going to post a story, b/c I already have both of these storybook Bibles – I just wanted to stop in and say great prizes! We LOVE both of these – we read one right after the other…
I was going to post this story anyway; it was fun to do it in 22 words!
I think this is the first time I’ve commented on your blog, Abraham, but both my husband and I enjoy reading it, and our sons are huge fans of Orison’s videos :)
This was definitely a trip down memory lane for me as I went back twenty-four years for my children’s funny stories and what I had recorded in their journals.
My kids are always cracking us up. Here’s a good one our 4-yr-old daughter, Hannah, asked the other day. (She’s been trying to figure out who the Devil is.)
I don’t have a blog, but posted the following as a note on my Facebook page:
Abraham Piper, at his blog, 22 Words, challenged us to write a kid story in 22 words. I wrote the following about 2 of my daughters, Zoe, 6 and Janae, 4, relating a true event.
Frantically searching for tweezers to remove a pretzel from Janae’s nose, I heard Zoe advise, “Just blow it out.” And she did.

I have experienced many a kid story over my former years as a nanny. Yet no child gave me more stories to re-tell than Nicholas Walker. If he wasn’t in your sight, he was smearing Budreau’s Butt Paste all over himself and the living room carpet or sprinkling poultry seasoning on the couch. Forget playing in the toilet, this kid was much more creative!
Here’s my submission; Superboy in terrycloth cape lept from the window and pancaked into the ligustrum, but not before being seen by Lex Luthor (“Dad”).
Oh, and if you let people know that you’re participating in this 22-word challenge, that won’t count as part of your 22 words.
My son has a cochlear implant…decided to take off the outside component and magnitize a magnetic toy to his head instead.
when’s the deadline?
Post any time this week and you’ll make the cut. I guess that means the deadline is Saturday.
No kid story, but I love that Jesus Storybook Bible. Great prizes, Abraham!
Mine is here.
That was tough! I don’t know how Abraham maintains coherence day after day using only 22 words.

1965: No tree in the window, no dad in the house; but, the love of my mother, and Christ in my heart.
I purchased both books last Christmas, based on your recommendation. We *all* loved them. More contests that don’t require a blog, please!
I think that I misunderstood the challenge.
Are we supposed to write a story for kids (as I did), or a story about kids?
If the latter, then I can probably come up with a good one from my twin grandsons.
