One difference between being 19 and 29 that I wouldn’t have pictured 10 years ago.

hahaha, I love you Abe!
Are you doing it on snow? Have you any videos? I’d love to see that!
I have also learned that when it is just my son and I, my wife will know about it.
The difference between 19 and 53?
You’ve got grandkids in the car with you!
Ha, ha!
And what a difference it makes!
Do you ever think about your own integrity over time, that is, about how and in what way you are still that 19 year old?
I was teaching A Christmas Carol last week and thinking about it a lot.
It is the looming thrill each time I accelerate. That brief moment you lose control and then regain it. What is it that we love so much?
Orison should come out with a new single about donuting, a new remix of “I Wanna Do What I Do In My Heart!”
“Kiddos” -great word choice!
Kudos! :)
I want to be a parent like that someday.
I’m 19 and still I love to do donuts with my Dad. Your kids will always enjoy doing donuts in the church parking lot even if your wife doesn’t always think it’s a good idea!
awesome. I’m 22, hopefully I can say the same when I’m 29.
Blasted Subaru and their all-wheel drive. More challenging.
Those donuts at 29 (cough) are sweeter, I am sure.
… 29 … I wish I could remember “29″.
I’m definitely getting too old. I had to read your post three times before it dawned on me that you weren’t EATING donuts, you were DOING donuts. Good grief.
Difference between 19 and 30 – doing donuts in a ’95 goes from “thrilling” to “what is this going to cost to fix?”
Some of my best memories of wintertime are doing “cookies” with my dad….my 4 siblings and I hollering all the way, my mom white knuckling and holding her breath!
drewB: Sometimes I wish I could turn off the all wheel drive in my Subaru.
Is it wrong to do donuts in a church parking lot when your driving a police car?
Ha! My husband loved this one! I have been scared of his love of slamming on brakes intentionally in icy parking lots and on empty streets for almost 6 years now. We also now have 2 kids in the car (one 2 year old and one on the way). Doesn’t stop him….
Amanda:
When he hits that lamp post? Cured for life.
:-)
You’re a man after my own heart. I also enjoy drifting with the family in tow. The good news is my wife doesn’t shudder anymore.
Can’t help but notice that Mom is not, nor ever has been part of this scene.
Totally something my hubby would say… and it just makes me love him all the more that as we age he just enjoys life more.
i am requesting you post your own video of donuts at 29 with kiddos, and maybe molly in the car. go for it. make memories.
Thanks for jogging my memories of being the kiddo and thinking my dad was the coolest. Here’s to all you mischievous dads out there!
Aber, ask Steve M. about a similar experience doing donuts with Christina recently. Not the best results. But I don’t think he’s ‘cured’.
Thanks man…u gave me my smile for the day. I heard my wife screaming in my head as I visualized me in the situation….lol!
I was sure the link would be a video. Don’t tease us like that, AP.
I knew i missed something at my little church – the parking lot isn’t big enough for donuts
