Blog tip: Turn new readers into regulars by asking them to subscribe at your About page.
Readers of your About page are broadly curious about your site, not just about one article.
They’re primed to subscribe. Invite them.

You know, I was just looking at the performance of my About page in Google Analytics and wondering what else I could do to improve it and make it more useful to everyone who visits it. That’s an excellent idea! Thank you.
Thanks for that great tip. I am trying to get more people to subscribe to my missions blog and I will offer on the about page now.
Ah – my “About” page is one of the least unpopular on my website. Advice taken. Page modified. Heaven help my poor visitors!
good advice, gonna do that now
Any place you could send us to show us how to do that? Yes, I know I could figure it out on my own.
i usually subscribe only if i know the person (even if it’s minimally).
but, then there’s ben in alabama @ http://www.mortifyme.blogspot.com
his latest story is a good example of how/what he writes.
i just have to give him a shout out since we’re talking about subscriptions here. (i know you’ve asked on another blog, but that was long before i read this one.)
Unless of course you use Blogger, in which case you don’t have an “About” page, or any page :(
Sam, I think that’s sad, too.But you can compose an entry, get its permalink, and post the link in the sidebar with the title, “About.”
Any tips for podcast subscriptions?
And now I know why I couldn’t find my “About” page…using blogger…thanks for explaining that.
Quick question…this will probably make it clear how LITTLE I understand about setting up a blog…but how do I even make it so readers can subsribe?….where is that option? Maybe I already have it? Or is that something I add? Thanks,
