The sorrow of a dreary spring morning…in all its drastic, high-pitched drama.
Listen to Orison addressing today’s flurries:
Stop!
I want it to rain today, because it’s spring. No snow is out at spring.

I feel the exact same way. Stupid snow.
We had snow this last weekend in Missouri! Southern Missouri. I agree with you. Snow come back next November.
My kids felt like this this morning. Not me!
I was still excited as my car was pelted by the two inch bunches of snow.
OHMYGOSH!
i literally almost just peed my pants.
HA!
Ha ha! You can tell he hasn’t lived through very many Minnesota springs. :)
That’s exactly what I did this morning, too!
You have an idealist on your hands.
he says exactly what i feel when it snows around now. poor O.
Yikes. Here in sunny NC we have a 2-year-old expressing similar frustration with anything he doesn’t like. Only he can’t explain it logically. Not sure which is worse.
aww, i LOVE orison!
Amen – I think having to shovel Spring weather is a direct result of the curse : )
compelling logic.
I feel your pain, Orison!!!! You can come visit us in NC – we don’t have any snow here!!! : )
for Orison it is cute, but when I did the same thing at Maria’s this morning I got some strange looks

I think I would feel the same way if I lived where Orison lives.
STOOOOOOOP!
Man, that was good.
I’m pretty sure that I sounded exactly the same yesterday morning when I woke up to 2 inches of fresh powder.
I loved that…totally cracked me up.
We never get snow down south….always rain. Orison should move down here and he’d get all the rain his heart desired. Well, that’s not true…I’m sure Oregon and Washington state get more rain than us, but you get the picture.
Geez, I almost cried just listening to his depth of feeling. Poor kid. Do something nice for him would ya?
i think i threw the exact same tantrum last weekend when my fiance (in chicago) told me (vacationing in LA) that it was going to snow the day i got back.
there’s a man that knows how things are SUPPOSED to be!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, so innocent! Minnesota children learn the hard truth very quickly, yes they do!
You could hear the raw emotion in his voice when he said, “I want it to RAIN today!”
Made my day.
Aber, how did he feel about the hail this afternoon? The Bloom kids were out catching it in a cup.
This prompts recollections of T.S. Eliot’s line ‘April is the cruelest month’; though it’s March, Orison’s lament like Eliot’s verse is persuasive.
SO funny
Oh Orison, you are just TOO cute for words! We are all sitting here smiling at the perfect way you have expressed all of our feelings!
That boy is definitely a ‘keeper’!
We woke up to a 1% raised sales tax this morning. Maybe snow would have been better?! <— in San Diego, CA and dodging the snowballs being thown in my direction
That was probably the cutest thing I have ever heard…..
And I agree wholeheartedly!

I think someone else might join in the plea with Orison. http://www.erickerickson.org/blog/?p=5423
