The Internet is an Infinite Museum of Art, and You Are the Docents

I spent all afternoon with Noriko Ambe’s paper sculptures. (And I live in Fulda, MN, population 1200!)
What are your favorite galleries?
* * * * *

The Nasher at Duke University
UC Berkeley’s gallery. Go Bears (?)
First Fridays- especially Adam Cave and Carver House Studios.
I like that file cabinet. I can identify with it.
I can totally see how you could spend hours in that gallery. However, I would want to be there in person – more than online.
I am going to have to say my daughters Polyvore page. She is only 15, loves photography and is quite the artist these days.

The Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History. It’s basically the Met on an art history timeline. Excellent Thematic Essays and cross referencing links. I could roam for hours.

What in the world are you doing in Fulda???
I like Julian Beever, the sidewalk illusionist. Just google him.
Though I can’t vouch for either website at all times, I am really into
– A collection of graffiti (or “street art” depending on your view of the laws and philosophy surrounding public space) from around the world.
and
– A site dedicated to equipping street artists with open source technologies for urban communication.
This video in particular is awesome
Fulda? Live here. We’re opening a thrift store on main street in a few weeks. I drive to Worthington to teach, go to the library for books, and turn on the computer for art.
KP
Where are you teaching in Worthington?
I really like these sculptures made from books.

A little sacrilegious and very beautiful.
(This was the post. The post that made me comment. No longer a Twentytwowords ghost reader!)
Emma: Holy cow, those are terrific. Thanks!
Myrddin: I teach at Minnesota West Community & Technical College. You seem surprised, but we’ve been here for the last ten years. :)
Far away from the big city, the internet has proved enormously useful and entertaining.
Even those of us in the sticks can get “culturized”.
