Hey, I like it. I just made the move back to WordPress after trying blogger out. I have to admit, I like wordpress a lot better.

    Jesse Hines says:

    Looks good.

Taking a little while to get used to it, but, on the whole, I think it does look better.

I love white space and the blog is a little roomier–not as compact as before.

    Good job.

WHOA! This just woke me up with all the bright white wall! What a big changes you had made! It looks great! In my shoe, I would throw in some colors, but that is me.

I liked the old layout/design and I don’t typically adjust well to change. Oh, well. I subscribe so I’ll only see it when I leave a comment (like today). :)

This design is far easier to understand than your previous iteration. I love the simplicity.

    Jen B. says:

I agree with ‘Guerite ~ BoldLion…I’d like color, too. I subscribe, so I had to check out the change for myself.

    Looks great.

I’ve been working on a re-design of my own…now I’m motivated to finish.

    1) Are the ads new?

    2) AdBlock isn’t catching them…yet. I guess that’s a good thing for you.

    3) Is it wrong to block advertisements?

    KP says:

    Love the white. A lot.

Also love having random posts instead of the same top 5.

And the open book facedown, that too.

Thing that will take some getting used to? Clicking for comments at the top of posts. That always feel counterintuitive to me.

Eh, it’s not as nice as your old one, but it’s not the worst i’ve seen.

AHHH, I think I am going blind from all the white! I need my sunglasses. :)

Layout’s great. A little drab in B&W. But today’s subject matter is definitely dull! ;o)

    abby says:

totally you Abraham! I really like the modern/classic look the header adds to it.

    You have great tast. :)

  23. 23
    Phoebe says:

I really like it, though the pronunciation thingy throws me off, since I am used to the International Phonetic Alphabet. Is that pronunciation from a dictionary?

  24. 24
    Ashley says:

    nice.

  25. 25
    Lindsey says:

Ahh, I have to say I preferred the old one–I was always particularly impressed by its design–but it’s always nice to have a little change now and then. That graphic of the book is really cool and now you’ve got some features you didn’t have before, so that’s cool.

  26. 26
    Ryan says:

Only fitting that the format of the blog match the format of the message. It’s about getting to the point. Easier to use–nicely done.

    SharonAbelle says:

the white is really white…lots of white!

    but you’re the professional here….:)

  28. 28
    Victor P says:

    ugh …so emergent

  29. 29
    Ben says:

I would say that the content is getting a little lost with the size of the sidebars. I kind of have to search for the actual posts. I mean, I know the posts aren’t not long and don’t need much space, but I still find myself needing to look for them on the page.

I love the minimalism though. The other site, while homey, was a little busy.

  30. 30
    Myrddin says:

    I’m still thinking about it.

  31. 31
    James says:

I miss the color a bit.

But I don’t miss the tiny, multiple columns of old.

Overall, I would say it’s better.

  32. 32

Very clean looking. Some folks have mentioned missing color.

I miss it a bit too.

On the other hand, it really makes the colored ads pop out if that is your goal.

And I love the idea of telling people to subscribe if they don’t like the new look. (Though we still have to come here to comment.)

  33. 33
    Scott says:

The comment counts on the rss feed went away. That’s the whole reason why I switched to wordpress :(

I need some time with the redesign.

  34. 34
    rachel says:

I really love the new layout. Much better. Would possibly like a pop of some sort of muted color, but can definitely do without it.

    Great job Danielle/you :)

  35. 35
    carissa says:

i like it! the whole minimalist thing, yeah. black and white is nice.

one thing: could you change the pronunciation part? (i know, i know . . . i can just subscribe.)

  36. 36
    Lance says:

This is sooo cool! Refreshing to the eyes. :D

  37. 37
    Adam DeClercq says:

I am so sad to see those beautiful books gone.

  38. 38

    I like it!! I think it’s much better. =)

  39. 39
    Sarz says:

Late reply… but wanted to say I like the simplicity of it. I thought your last design looked good, was really clear and easy to use. I have the same feeling about this one… in fact it’s even more clean cut!

  40. 40
    Tony C says:

    very well-ventilated :)

  41. 41
    Erik says:

    I like it.

    Clean. Cool. Crisp. Classic.
