Buying my new planner every summer. A song on the radio that brings back a happy memory. July, when they start stocking store shelves with school supplies. A text from my nephew. Opening a new pack of pens. The look my students get when they “get it.” Not having to set my alarm clock before I go to sleep (meaning I can sleep late). Leaving for work early enough to stop and get coffee on the way. Finally, most mornings, before I gather the energy to get out of bed, my cat nuzzles my armpit and purrs, which makes my pillow vibrate and makes me feel warm and loved.
