The real joy of tubing is in the boat, not behind it.

Watching someone else careen helplessly, bouncingly along provides unadulterated schadenfreude.

    And when they wave at you, grip on as tightly as you can because the driver is about to take a sharp curve hoping to flip you over. I always see it as a challenge – give it your best shot!

    But it yields awfully sore arms next morning…

      In that case, you may be ready for the next lesson: “Schadenfreude ist die schönste Freude.”

      It’s a German saying I don’t agree with (meaning, “schadenfreude is the best kind of joy”), but which just seems to fit here.

    great. i have a new words to describe why i always laugh the hardest when someone falls while watching funniest home videos.

      I used to have a roommate who laughed so hysterically at all the falling videos! I usually never laughed at the videos; I laughed at *her* laughing at the videos.
