I just finished this book, too–and found that my “greatest fears” for the book were fulfilled…

I liked it so much at first and had great hopes for it, but found that it dissolved into ridiculosity in the last 200 or so pages.

So… I went and took a look at Amazon’s page for “The Brothers K”. I think I’ll add it to my (considerably lengthy) reading list. Here’s the thing – I’ve not read “The Brothers Karamazov”, though I hear it’s a classic. I’m interested in opinions about whether reading Dostoevsky’s book first (which is more daunting than Duncan’s) would be worth the effort.

    Any thoughts?
