How many potentially great writing projects have been derailed by writers not realizing this?

Disliking everything about someone makes you a big, mean hyperbole that no one will listen to.

If you want your negativity about someone to be heeded, be positive about them as often as possible.

Otherwise you’re crying wolf.

“Show, don’t tell” as an absolute rule of artistic quality hasn’t been around too long, has it?

I don’t like sermonizing art. Others don’t mind heavy-handedness.

I’m afraid it’s not their aesthetic, but mine, that is trendy and passing.

Asking if you’re joking either ruins the humor or shows I don’t take your seriousness seriously.

Occasionally, a comment makes me honestly wonder if the author is kidding.

But there’s no way to politely ask, “Are you serious?”

Don’t assume anything about people just from seeing how they follow others on Twitter.

There are good reasons to follow…

  • …your followers,
  • a few select people,
  • or nobody.

A person’s choice says nothing certain about them.
