#10 sure has some #11s.
I got halfway through these and had a seizure.
ultraxylophonicalities isn’t word.
Sure it is. I’m not saying I didn’t make it up, but it’s definitely a word.
Granted. What qualifies something as word? I definitely understand what ultraxylophonicalities could mean in a sentence.
The 3 year old’s time with his Playskool Pound n’ Sound could only be described as ultraxylophonicality.
I think you might get along quite well with Douglas Adams, Lewis Carroll
I have never read this book by Douglas Adams but maybe you might be interested. It is called:
“The Deeper Meaning of Liff: A Dictionary of Things There Aren’t Any Words for Yet–But There Ought to Be”
http://www.amazon.com/Deeper-Meaning-Liff-Dictionary-Yet-But/dp/0307236013/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1256325982&sr=8-10
That looks good. I’ll check it out. Thanks!
It looks like that is actually the sequel. The original is just called “The Meaning of Liff.”
Apologies.
LOL!
You have a lot of time on your hands! ;)
I make these sacrifices of my time for you, dear readers.
My initial thought was: “Methinks Mr. Piper has a bit too much time on his hands today.”
But JMB beat me to it!
Actually, I had too much time on my hands a few weeks ago…I’ve been sitting on this one for a bit.
ok, i just found this site today and i already love it.
Thanks…and welcome!
Were you googling “honorificabilitudinity”?
Absolutely, I was.
I get your point, but that won’t stop me from guessing that #10 is the one you (as opposed to someone else) made up.
Nope.
One that we liked in college many years ago was pseudointerdenominationalism. You know, the church you know is Pentecostal but calls itself interdenominational. I’m against that. Antipseudointerdenominationalism?
You should be required to record yourself pronouncing each and every one of these wonderful words. the end.
I think Molly should record these, but only if she uses her “Minnesohtan” accent.
You really put a lot of effort researching these. Well done.
I’m guessing that number 21 is fake, since my first shot (#10) got knocked down already.
Oh snap! 21′s a word too. Didn’t see that the first time through.
Hmmm… 9???
21 is a word, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t make it up…
honorificabilitudinity:
Sounds like a George W. Bush word.
Too bad “integritude” isn’t 22 words.
#10! Woot!
Countercountermeasures is made up.
