Does bringing myself a meal count? I brought myself a bowl of Wheaties this morning.
#12 took a meal to a friend sick w/ flu. #13 memorized 2Cor. 4:7. Following you on Twitter already.
In the past 24 hours I have done 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 14, 17, 21.
Good stuff, sir.
Ok, then. Do the activities have to take place subsequent to my reading this post? If so, discount my next few comments, because I’ve done most of these in the past. Count this comment for #10. (rss)
Done #3 multiple times.
Did #4 on Thursday.
I do #6 regularly.
#8 happened last week.
Retweeted
I’ve done #9 here at this blog a few times.
Following you on twitter
Haven’t done #13 for a while, but I used to. Does that count?
Subscribing by RSS
#14 is easy. Doesn’t always work, though.
We do #16 not infrequently.
Does the joke have to actually be funny for #17 to count? If not, then count this one.
#19. Check.
I’ve done 1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,13,14 all in the past I’d say, three days?
Does that count?
#20. Yesterday.
#21. Also yesterday.
Busy singing a new song
#22. Ambiguous. Check.
Doing #5 multiple times.
OK, I know you said we should repost multiple times to increase our chances but the way I see it…if God wants me to have one of these ESV study Bibles (which, to be honest, would help me a TON with my growing in understanding of the Word) then I’ll win with one comment.
So, I’m going to say “I’m sorry” I didn’t follow the rules to the T. :) (I also call my mom every day because I know it’s the high point of her day.)
Been a longtime subscriber by RSS
I have been reading James about 4 times since the 3rd of October among the other books I read.
6. Called and visited my grandma who raised me since I was 12. Hence, I call her ‘mom’.
Also #10
10. I have this blog subscribed in my Google Reader.
11. I am making a donation tomorrow to Called In Action, dance ministry based at TCU. The only reason why I didn’t donate before is because I missed their gathering at some local business by 30 minutes.
Does 14 count if I live in a different country and say it in the local language
12. There is a homeless man in my neighborhood named Jose. I saw him at the local Jack In The Box and I got him a meal.
13. Uh does this count:
Romans 8:1-17 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending His own son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
For those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on things of the flesh but those who live according to the Spirit have their minds set on the things of the Spirit. For the mind that is set on the flesh is death but the mind that is set on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
You however are not in the flesh but in the Spirit if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him.
But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you then He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
So then, brothers, we are debtors not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear but you have received the Spirit of adoption as son by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. And if children, then heirs – heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ provided that we suffer with him in order that we might be also glorified with Him.
14. I cannot recommend this highly enough.
I was in Chicago a couple weeks ago in downtown. I kept doing that over and over again.
You would not believe how each and every single person’s countenance melted before your very eyes and to smile so wonderfully and warmly.
It was like a drug and it was an immediately addiction.
15. In order to get Jose that meal, I had to use all the cash in my pocket.
The others I do all the time but I have no proof. However, I will always keep that running list in mind.
By the way, I am trying to win this so that I can give it away to a high school student I know who loves studying the Bible.
#10 is done. #1 and #2 are kinda of a given, right?
#20 is done.
#5 – my brother is quite excited about the contest now that i’ve told him
I’m sorry, but it is hard to actually comment on many of these without it seeming like boasting. However, you’re welcome to the $13 in my pocket or I’d be happy to make your family a meal. It would give me the chance to meet face to face, smile and say, “Hi.”

I don’t really call my mom that often. It’d be kind of weird since I see her at home all the time. However, I probably should have call my mom more often while I was away in Canada for a semester as an exchange student.

One of the strings says, “Come on, let’s get out of here.”
“I’m going back in there!” says the second string.
“Fine, it’s your funeral.” replies the first.
The second string bent himself into loops and tousled his upper end, then re-entered the bar.
“Hey, aren’t you that string I threw out just a minute ago?” asked the bartender.
“Nope, I’m a frayed knot.” replied the string (ba-dum-bum!)

Gary also gets a bonus #17 for that. :)
I’ve retweeted. To be honest, it’d be better if I didn’t win.

Just helped my son with a new word (for both of us): moiety. I’m sure to see it in use everywhere now… Perhaps on your blog?
I have just found your wesite and signed up for a subscription. My family serves overseas and are currently learning a new language, so we do # 14 alot. I had never seen this verse before…
“No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him” 2nd Tim. 2:4 ESV
I had wondered why so I looked it up in the NIV…
“No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs—he wants to please his commanding officer.” 2nd Tim. 2:4 NIV
Some theological implications could be missed with the NIV, namely it is GOD who enlisted us.
