An obtuse simile in which I deny that we’re necessarily wiser collectively than individually
Valuing brainstorming meetings, conversation, and other forms of groupthink over solitary reflection and decision-making is like only ever wanting to eat soup.

Two words: Reinhold Niebuhr.
Sometimes two is not better then one,
Like water and gasoline.
Too many cooks spoil the broth.
If you want something done well, do it yourself.
I love the demotivation posters.
MEETINGS: None of us is as dumb as all of us.
Gasoline without oxygen or ignition source is just a liquid with potential. Potential can only be realize when element interact.
This is one of the mysteries of Christ. When you get a group of depraved humans together, the depravity tends to increase exponentially, and yet as believers we’re called to come together. We’re being built together into a temple of God, we’re a body together, we’re Christ’s bride together, where 2 or 3 are gathered Christ is there. Is church “soup?”
Ummm. I like that simile!
I think some might state that valuing groupthink over solitary reflection is more like only ever wanting to eat steak.
Eh?
Wow. You guys must be frustrated. I love the teams I work with and feel far richer for having worked with them. As the leaders of a church, our opinions and perspectives are both broadened and sharpened by listening to each other and praying together. We’ve worked together for 11 years now. We still like each other and have a healthy church. Just sayin’.
