An obtuse simile in which I deny that we’re necessarily wiser collectively than individually

Valuing brainstorming meetings, conversation, and other forms of groupthink over solitary reflection and decision-making is like only ever wanting to eat soup.

This is one of the mysteries of Christ. When you get a group of depraved humans together, the depravity tends to increase exponentially, and yet as believers we’re called to come together. We’re being built together into a temple of God, we’re a body together, we’re Christ’s bride together, where 2 or 3 are gathered Christ is there. Is church “soup?”

We still like each other and have a healthy church. Just sayin’.
