One of my favorite blogs, Daring Fireball, has mastered this blogging technique that sparks a lot of interest:

Take a quote or two (maybe a paragraph at most), and quote it. Then, add some of your own commentary before and/or afterwards.

Encourage your readers to CLICK THROUGH instead of copying the whole article.

An aside to Justin Taylor, I’m starting to love your blog. I wish you would do this instead of quoting whole articles.
