We do ourselves a disservice by not.... we "generally" (although generalizations get ya into trouble) live as though life is certain and death is uncertain, though the reality is completely opposite. I lost a baby and my other children grew up referring to her in ways like that too, until they learned "better" vocabulary. But it didn't bother me; I was glad they mentioned her in whatever ways were natural to them. That's how it should be. When they suggested we celebrate her birthday one year by having a picnic in the cemetery, we did. Real life in death stuff. Yes, that is beautiful.
