Parenting: It’s not really all that complicated when you think about it.
To quote one of cinema’s greatest narrators:
I guess that’s the way the whole durned human comedy keeps perpetuatin’ itself.

hahahahahahahahahaha! SO funny!
When I read this comic this morning I had to share it. When I read your post I read/heard the quote with Sam Elliot’s voice in my head.
As a father of newborn twins, I can only say that sometimes they come naturally in pairs. The strategy necessary is bit more complicated. Thankfully the energy comes supernaturally.
Oh my goodness. I love it! haha. So funny.
Hysterical!
So Funny!!!
But be careful looking at other comics there.
My husband and I are both 23. We got married in April and I’m now 31 weeks pregnant, which means our son will be born 5 weeks before I turn 24.
So when I saw this xkcd comic, I completely understood the feeling:
http://xkcd.com/441/
The title text for that comic on the original site is one of the best parts.
very funny
That is hilarious! I just told my husband I wanted to move somewhere colder. I tried to sweeten the deal by saying it would be more conducive to cuddling. He said, “no way! We’ll get more of these,” pointing to our 4 beautiful babies. :)
The mouseover text from the original site makes it even better:
“On the one hand, every single one of my ancestors has managed to figure it out. On the other hand, that’s the mother of all sampling biases.”
I love KXCD, even if it’s (highly) inappropriate sometimes.
Or maybe you love it because of it’s “highly inappropriateness”? Or maybe that’s just me. ;)
Sometimes. More often, it’s the really obscure science and computer jokes that do me in.
Like this one.
Or, you know, ones like #514 that do both (I’m not making it too easy on the curious now. You’ve been warned!)
What sad commentaries about something as sacred as a new born baby.
i see it differently. we’re privy to sacred miracles, but we acknowledge how almost absurd it is that goofy people like us are entrusted with it. sometimes it’s necessary to sit in quiet awe, and other times it’s good to laugh.
Funny, but, umm, I’ve sen lots of 16 year old moms…its easy to make babies; its another thing entirely to parent them.
not looking forward to that yet. really enjoyed the graphic design bit! the Christian response is patience…a great abundance of it.
Um, having actually, uh, lived that this past year, let me be the first to tell you: it’s not that funny.
But I sure do love my kids.
I’m normally meh about xkcd, but that was good.
