Q: What’s another word kinda like tautology?
A: tautology
Kidding…kidding.
Real answer: pleonasm
Relax…it’s not as gross as it sounds.

I quite enjoyed this.
It’s like happy butterflies in my stomach when I see these sort of things. Thank you.
I like that there’s a “redundancy” tag on the pleonasm article, suggesting the article be merged with the “redundancy” article. A fitting suggestion.
The highlight for me was that the entry was still able to work tautology into the mix.
Used in a sentence: After the doctor used a bladed sword to remove the pleonasm I suffered with since childhood, I could finally smell the burning fire consuming my tuna fish through the black darkness of the forest.
I made up a little phrase about this once:
“pleonasms are multiplying like neoplasms”
(After I was accused of using a pleonastic superlative.)
Very true.
I felt downright stupid when I glanced at this post this morning.
I revisited the post tonight, this time clicking the wikipedia links, and felt much better about my intelligence.
It pays to look up unfamiliar words.
To join the tautology discussion, I must join the tautology discussion.
Hands up everybody who read the Wikipedia article all the way through.
