In case you need a song to make you feel lonely, thirsty, and happily sad…

Does anyone else ever feel like their little kids are richer than them?

That dude is loaded…especially for a guy who thinks 12 is one of the biggest numbers there is.

The Drunk Girl Saga

At my other blog Downhill Both Ways I write essays and stories based on my jaunting about Minneapolis. Recently, I got stuck in what accidentally turned out to be a serial story. I finally finished it up today.

The series is unofficially and prosaically called “The Drunk Girl Saga,” because it’s a saga (loosely speaking) and it’s about a drunk girl.

Here are it’s 4 parts if you’d like to check them out:

  1. I Am Your Creepy Uninvited Secret Bodyguard
  2. Crossing a Bridge with a Drunk Girl at Midnight
  3. I Wanna Get Her Home, Then Go Home. That’s all.
  4. The Drunk Girl’s Ride Home

Happy Birthday, Willie Nelson.

At the Britannica Blog, Robert McHenry quotes H. L. Mencken against Prohibition, and then asks us to exchange Mencken’s “Prohibition” with our contemporary “War on Drugs,” and see how it reads.

McHenry claims that, compared to Prohibition, our “war” is

the exact same terrible idea, this time conducted even more ruthlessly, at enormous cost in lives and money and social peace, to no good end whatever.

What do you think?
