Preparing to shoot the Coen Brothers’ True Grit

If your taste in movies is even remotely similar to mine, you’re excited that the Coen brothers are making a version of True Grit, and even more excited that it stars Jeff Bridges.

How China mourns online

Today is a national day of mourning in China because of the Yushu earthquake that has taken over 2,000 lives.

In recognition of this, many major Chinese websites have removed color from their designs and gone black and white.

Why do people use screen savers anymore?

Screen savers seem like an unnecessary holdover from the era when you’d try to beat solitaire just to see the cards bounce around—because it was Uh-May-Zing that something on a computer screen could move.

Maybe not, though. Perhaps they have some purpose that a blank screen doesn’t accomplish. (Other than simply being awesome, of course.)
