You don’t have to outrun the bear to avoid a bear attack.
You know that joke about how when you and a friend are attacked by a bear in the wilderness, you don’t have to be able to outrun the bear, you just have to outrun your friend?
Well, here’s some real-life pictorial proof that this is advice is more than just macabre humor.

“What happened next to this poor fellow?” you ask.
I have no idea. Hope he’s OK.

The bear has been hit with a tranquilizer dart, it looks like. Those things work pretty fast…
That’s good to know…
If the you took that joke to the next level, that dart could have made his friend a whole lot easier to outrun…
I think he made the right decision in the end.
Ha!
I found this series of pictures on another site and it had the following caption:
“A female bear escaped from a wildlife park and was spotted near one Polish village.
Veterinarians that were called shot her with a tranquilizer dart. Then they were going to load the animal into the car and drive it to the zoo.
But during the loading, the bear suddenly woke up and rushed on her captors.
You’d better run fast”
Want to get away??
Of course someone was taking pictures?!? My friend reminds me, “You don’t get a Pulitzer from helping.” :)
