I thought the neighborhood looked familiar! I was born in Oakland, where this was staged.

It’s called poppin’ and that guy in the white t-shirt was as graceful as they come. All of them were very gifted.

also, pop-n-lock? and wow, this is impressive. the guy in black is definitely a trained dancer, towards the end you can see him “spotting” during a turn.

I think hip hop with a little krump mixed in for the guy in the stripes. They are all pretty good but the guy in the red coat is hypnotic.

Ohhhh, I love watching stuff like this. I’ve always wished to be able to move so flawlessly. Is 30 too old to start some kind of formal lessons? Probably. Amazing, how God graces some bodies with incredible abilities!

There’s definitely some popping & waving – no locking though. Quite a bit of gliding. a good bit of krumping, a couple of breaking moves. It’s all hip-hop though, so you can just call it hip-hop dancing :-).

    That is amazingly beautiful. Outstanding.

The guy in red crossed himself just before starting. Cool.

Apparently, it’s turf dancing (according to kottke.org): http://kottke.org/10/07/turf-dancing-in-the-rain

wiki had this to say about turf dancing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turfing
