An interview with preeminent online wine connoisseur, Gary Vaynerchuck:
The Main Thing to take away from this interview…
When you go into a wine shop, try a wine from a varietal you’ve never had before. Don’t buy another Pinot Grigio, Zin, Pinot Noir, or Chardonnay.
You’ll be a wine expert if you go 2 years and never order the same kind of wine.
7 other questions he answers…
- What’s some good wine in the $10 range?
- What’s the most important thing to consider when buying wine?
- What should you ask a sommelier to impress your date?
- Where are the best places to learn about wine?
- Are bottles over $25 worth it?
- Are wine clubs a good way to learn about wine?
- What’s the best way to find good wine values?

Wine? We’re Christians we don’t drink wine. It has alcohol. ;)
Oops, that slipped my mind for a minute.
It’s okay. I once had a thimble of grape juice when I was 9 that had started to ferment. I personally drank every extra thimble left after communion so no one would have to worry about it.
I grew up being told wine was evil. Now I know better but know nothing about wine. I have to have my friends order for me! Now if I could just figure wine into my budget maybe I could become an expert!
I had a hard time listening to him because all I could think about was his interesting vocal quality. He would make a good research participant.
You’re missing the point… :)
Gary V. is an excellent dude!
i took his advice and tried Indaba Chenin Blanc 2009 from South Africa the other day and it was really good!
mm… Just the name of that wine sounds good!
