    I wonder if those layers still exits at the NY public library…and if they are still full of books.

      If so, I don’t think they are open to the public–I was there a couple weeks ago and didn’t see a way to get to where most of the books are stored. I certainly could have missed something, though. I’m guessing the levels are still there and still contain books. The public areas really didn’t have many books on display.

    The mystery implied in this image draws me like a magnet! I want to believe that’s still there, that I could go down and explore it and find some dusty old book with a secret inside. And a treasure. And a ghost. Not even alphabetized.

    Anybody notice how nobody in the depiction is Overweight? Must be all that exercise, climbing all those stairs. Also, That they are all men? Where are all the fat women?

    I don’t think that it shows the underground floors of the library. It’s a section that shows the floors above the ground. On the right, you can see the the windows with reading tables in front of it.
