Would it? 95% of my Computer Science graduating class was male (And everyone in the class knew what the real acronym actually meant.)
Still, it should’ve been two guys or two girls, just to remove the issue. Since that’s not the point. But these are probably repeating characters whose particular personality traits lend themselves to this humor, so why am I still typing this again? ;-)
With the short legs, the sitting atop a bookcase, and what look like pyjamas, I took the female character to be a little kid. I doubt there’s any statement intended about women being dumber about tech.
I had to laugh out loud at this cartoon because this is exactally how a right minded person [me] remembers scientific and technical terms and it paints perfectly what its like having a husband who understands that about you. Mine did. I miss him terribly, he passed away in 2001. But don’t be sad as he is of course in the most glorious place. It’s just so nice having things like these that take me back to a sweet memory. Thank you.
The girl isn’t being the tech dummy, she’s being curious & trying to fill her brain with useless knowledge for when her kids ask her trivial questions.
Of course they would make the girl the tech-dummy. Tisk tisk… :)
Be much more true to life to make the guy the tech-dummy, wouldn’t it?

As a female computer scientist, I can vouch for the sadly sizeable gender gap.
Why do people read sexism into everything? I thought it was funny, and didn’t notice the genders involved until I read the comments.
+1
