Good times from Getty Images: Black women overjoyed to be shopping
Lately the internet has been enjoying the trend in stock photography of women laughing while eating salad by themselves. Now there’s this too…

I’m sure there are dozens of other trends, too, and I am going to go look for them, because it seems quite obvious that stock photos hold the secret to happiness.

Nice.
Another one: Men laughing alone with fruit salad. http://i.imgur.com/wSMXl.jpg
That’s awesome! I call it Tuesday.
I don’t know if it’s as prevalent as women laughing w/salad or black women shopping, but the husband/wife piggyback ride to illustrate a happy marriage kind of gets on my nerves. You know the one: she’s laughing, on her husband’s back, and he’s smiling…they’re going places.
Yes, this one bugs me too. Piggyback rides are the marketer’s quickest way to show how much fun you aren’t having, but could be.
Here’s one that I’m constantly bombarded with right now, and frankly getting tired of seeing: Pert And Perky Pregnant Woman Caressing Bare, Horrifyingly Perfect Stretchmark-Free Belly. About half the time her Baby-Daddy is snuggled behind her, with his hands on that same annoyingly airbrushed abdomen. The overwhelming cutesey-poo-ness makes me nauseous.
Why are so many of these shopping women also leaping? Frankly, the mall does not make me want to leap.
Don’t forget “Call our Tech Support/Sales Department NOW!” featuring the picture of the beautiful blonde. You know you’ll actually end up with either “Jon, the prince of darkness” or “Tony” from Bangladesh.
School children with an apple on their desk. It’s like ‘apple on desk’ is synonymous with ‘school’ and it’s very irritating when I’m looking for a stock photo that will actually represent school in the real world.
