I’m personally really surprised that “lol” didn’t make the cut! (I realize it’s not actually a word in and of itself, but it’s used as one in daily speech now)
It’d be interesting to see how often “yes” is replaced with “yeah,” and “yep” compared to how often “no” is replaced with “nope.” I would guess that people switch out “yes” more than “no.” Just a guess though! :-)
Ben: Did you find my own website about my experiences visiting the site? http://4guysinacar.blogspot.com.au/2012/10/day-182-burning-gates-of-hell.html – The door to Hell is in Turkmenistan
“alot” did not make the cute. surprising.
lol @ myself
“cut” not “cute”
It probably didn’t make the list since it is technically two words: a lot.
I imagine ‘Like’ (#67) is on the rise since it gets inserted into like every sentence.

Interesting that “no” is #51, but “yes” did not make the list.

Another guess would be that it’s because “no” isn’t just used as an opposite to “yes”. You can also say things like “I’ve got no idea”, et cetera.
Most frequently used on the web? I’m sure “like” would be higher if we were discussing speech!
I think #102 would be the word “awesome”…
I can’t believe the word “MOM” isn’t on the list. I know I hear it about a thousand times a day lol
@Laura That was great, I snorted.
