I hate to be a spoilsport, but Plato’s views were similar to Socrates’ and so they probably didn’t have long arguments. Perhaps Plato vs. Aristotle might be a better choice?
Plato never says anything in any of his dialogues, and all accurate accounts of Socrates that we have are by Plato. Plato was a student of Socrates, and wrote of his life until his Death. It’s hard to say what they would agree on, and disagree on.
As noted, what we know about Socrates is from Plato.
They both argue for a universal concept of ideas.
Aristotle takes a different view, with an emphasis on reason.
The battle between the two would be interesting.
The empiricists could then step in with the argument that we must use our senses to judge what is actually there, dealing a strong blow to
rationalists who over emphasize the power of reason
Can anyone tell me who is winning?
This is epic!
WIN, 10.32 hours, that’s a fight!
