You might be leaning toward calling these creatures cute…

Watch this video and see if it tips your opinion toward freaky. Frenetic little vermin…

Clearly, “cute” and “freaky” are not mutually exclusive.

  2. Andrew says:

meh, still cute. cute and crazy…

  3. EEE! I think this just took my obsession with domesticated rats to another level. My question is where can I find one for myself? lol

  4. Cute or freaky? Who cares, I’m just wondering what they taste like.

(That comment is supposed to be an example of freaky.)

    … Pokémon DO exist!

  6. d says:

My dad had one of these when I was really little. We used to let it loose to jump around the garage. Their springy hind legs are so cool.

  7. Andy says:

That’s nothing my three new barn cats couldn’t handle.

  8. My father grew up on a farm near Des Moines, and was often sent out to the barn to kill rats with a pitchfork. To this day, the mere idea of rats gives him the heeby-jeebies. I suspect if he saw this video, he would faint from the intrinsic freakiness.

  9. Ben says:

I’m just imagining what 100 of those would look like all running at each other like that. Yeackkk.

  10. Marie says:

My 6 year old says “Cute! Because it’s like they’re playing with each other.” I say freaky…the more the freakier!

  11. Laurie says:

I think these are not cute. They are freaky ick.

  12. Those things do NOT look like they were an act of intelligent design. And yes, if I found those things running around my house at night and nipping at my ankles, it would be my childhood nightmare come true.

  13. Lynnette says:

10 days after you posted this and I let my children watch it, my 6-year-old has a nightmare that “there were 3 kangaroo rats, but they had bat wings, loose in our van”.
Kangaroo rats with bat wings? Yeah, that would give me nightmares too!

These animals are suffering in a place not big enough for them. Why take them out of nature…? I will never understand human atitudes!!

  15. sortof says:

I think my cat would LOVE them…. :)

  16. Rogh-sensei says:

    We call that one…Muad’dib.

  17. Sarah says:

Imagine seeing one of those scamper across your living room out of the corner of your eye… It would freak me out! I say, they’re cute as pets – when you expect them to be somewhere – but freaky as pests!

  18. amanda says:

  19. K says:

No no no no no no no.

  20. Le Dude says:

    A worthy T-Rex 2

  21. Ricky-F says:

Man, if these rodents became like a rat infestation in my house, I’d probably keep a few around. I mean, they look like they’d eat bugs, right? I hate bugs, these are adorable and look like they eat them. I want one now. Noooooooooooow!

  22. Shawna says:

    cute
