Very tiny 1969 pickup truck in near-perfect condition for sale

This 1969 Subaru Sambar is currently available on eBay…

A couple notes from the description:

  • STREET LEGAL with only 9,350 miles
  • 4 Speed manual transmission
  • Mechanically sound, all lights, signals, wipers and electrical work perfectly, etc.
  • Tires and exhaust very good, also does not leak or drip
  • Top speed 52-55 mph.   And 60+ mpg!!!

Collectible? Whatever.

Who else besides me would totally drive this everywhere, all the time, if it was theirs?

    Would!

But it looks almost as cold for the driver as it would be for the second passenger.

do you thing an average-sized adult could fit in the thing? it looks like a good toy for my two year old.

  6. I wonder how hot those headlight housings get (your left knee would be kissing one)?

I would drive it everywhere if I lived somewhere with decent streets. But, I live in New Orleans.

    Me! Me! Me!

This is WAAAY better than the blue pickup one of your (unnamed) brothers was driving when he picked me up at church one day. It was jacked so high I had to haul myself up like trying to get out of the deep end of the pool with no ladder. Great show for everyone else leaving church at the same time.

Are you kidding? Everyone drives these in Romania. This just looks a lot prettier than theirs.

Here’s a bit more info, and pix of another Sambar, from 1968. It’s not quite as pristine as the 1969 here, though. Check it out at the Microcar Museum:
