Wine aroma wheel helps you describe what you’re tasting
I’m almost dorky enough to print this out and bring it to the next tasting I go to…
(Click the image to enlarge it.)
There’s all kinds of other ones out there, too, in case you’re not really into badly-scanned facsimiles from the 80′s.
* * * * *

Not sure I’d like a wine with the aroma of “wet dog”. Is this a wine aroma wheel or the latest jelly belly flavors?
Am I missing “buttery?” Would that fall somewhere in the lactic pie?
Yeah, sweaty, fishy, horsey, diesel. Those are the insults you throw at the waiter who brought you the rubbish wine.
Are… all of these things that one might be looking for??? By which I mean… would people be likely to say “Mmm, this wine has a slight aftertaste of skunk.”
Plastic??! Moldy cork?? Mmm, tar.
Ummm….I’ll have Skunky, Diesely….wet cardboard wine please. ;P
