Nature sees your photoshopped animal picture and raises you one Sheep Pig.

I was surfing along the internet when this picture popped up…

It got a little smile out of me, because it’s a pretty good mashup of a sheep and a pig, right?

Then I did a bit of Googling and saw that it’s real. Mangalitsa…

…is a name for three breeds of pig grown especially in Hungary and the Balkans known also as a curly-hair hog. It belongs to European unimproved lard-type breeds that are descended directly from wild boar populations.

    I’m sitting next to my Hungarian husband who confirms that this is indeed a breed here. He also says that their meat is supposedly healthier than that of the average pig. Something about the fat composition of the meat being healthier.
