Update: In the comments, Jacob says he’d like to see my attempt at following this tutorial.
No problem.
45 seconds and 1 wet napkin later…

I think we can all agree now that these instructions work quite well.

I have seen similar drawing tutorials in just about every beginning drawing book. My question to all the non-drawers out there: do they actually help you draw something?
Abraham – I would have like to have seen your attempt at Bugs.
Done. I updated the post.
Awesome!
Not bad especially for a napkin.
@Jacob: These never helped me. The bubble “guide lines” in the beginning are just as hard for me as anything else. The proportions are always off, the shapes aren’t quite right, or the tilt is skewed.
I’d like to see submissions of readers that apply this. :)
My submissions are over at my blog here: http://subtledesigner.blogspot.com/2011/07/bugs-bunny-drawing.html
I was quite surprised by my attempt – just followed the instructions, but didn’t really think it was working until I inked the outline and rubbed out the guidelines. http://teachreflect.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/img_1528.jpg?w=202&h=300
Who cares about the Bugs Bunny drawing, that shirt is freaking awesome!
@Joey- that’s what I noticed first! =D
I liked the shirt as well!
Ditto that. I want one!
