Man gets stuck in manhole trying to retrieve a lost wallet

A Ceres man dropped his wallet inside a manhole and got stuck trying to fetch it, police said.
He must have been wasted, right? Nope…
Police said he was slightly intoxicated but not impaired.
Which is to say, he wasn’t drunk, just dumb.
Although, maybe it wasn’t his wallet. Maybe it was his date’s and he was being chivalrous… Probably not, but let’s give the benefit of the doubt and all that.

I like how KCRA’s tagline is ‘where the news comes first’. I saw this yesterday as an example of people’s crazy devotion to their iPhones. He had supposedly been beat up and his iPhone thrown down the storm drain. Ah the joys of Internet Meme Epistemology. :-)
Even if he was trying to be chivalrous, that doesn’t make it not dumb. :)
Yeah this happened near where I live. The dude got beat up by a couple of dudes and they threw his phone in the storm drain. He said he was trying to get his phone back to call the cops/ambulance. The guy obviously wasn’t super bright but he had his head busted open and a bunch of cuts and huge bruises on his arm. I felt bad for him
