Intricate handmade New Kids On the Block sweaters from the early 90′s

The story from Joanne Conklin, the knitter and blogger who made these…

We were living in Germany at the time and bands like New Kids On The Block were huge with the teen set. However, there were no fan t-shirts to be found anywhere, so I decided to knit sweaters.

I made one for my daughter, then her friends, and word-of-mouth spread and the next thing you know I’d knit over a hundred of them, selling all but about 6 of them.

I like that the O in “Donnie” has a peace sign in it. Because that’s how Donnie rolls.

I think I had that comforter that’s hanging behind the blue sweater…

Are you sure those are knit? I don’t think it’s an untrue story, but I knit and icknow that knotting words is really hard.

I was thinking the same thing. How about knitting the face of Joe? That is pretty amazing! More amazing is that NKOTB did not profit from these fine works of art.
