  1. Anthony says:

You know what guy, you’re stupid. For the record, that’s the intake behind the cab, not the exhaust. The guy you said couldn’t swim, looked to me like he was doing a damn fine job, considering he was in full ACUs and the current was pretty strong. I understand if you don’t like our military or the wars that we are waging across the globe. But to flat out insult a group of servicemen that are following orders and doing their best to save the lives of people that live near you. In your community…what have you done with your life? Gotten drunk and stranded during a hurricane? Good job buddy! Just want you to know, I live in Texas, where we wouldn’t need the Guard’s help. We would have put the camera down and rescued the folks on our own.

I agree with you Anthony … the guy does not know a thing about military vehicles. My undying gratitude to the brave men and women who went out and rescued many people!

    • Mariah says:

Agreed! It’s easy to talk crap and be cocky when you’re up on dry land and they’re the ones down there trying to save lives. Whoever recorded this is a piece of trash, hopefully they get sucked into the sewers by all the water :)

    • Dallas says:

I agree with Anthony who ever posted this video is a freakin moron, like he said OUR trucks are made to go through deep water. Its a tactical vehicle for christ sakes! and if ya wanna talk trash about not being able to swim alot of ppl in the army cant swim, we never went through it in basic. and if were so stupid, thats fine ill give you my IBA and you can go over seas and convoy with IED’s goin off every where and hear the metallic ping of small arms fire hitting the side of the vehicle. thank you sir who took this clip you have a nice day -PFC Pooley

  2. What Anthony says. About the air intake.

These vehicles have a purpose built water-fording system installed and are literally meant to do this.

  3. Bill B says:

That is Manville, NJ. I commute through Manville to get to work. That is one of the reasons I am working from home today.

  4. Candice says:

Love the moron behind the camera – they aren’t stupid – they are under orders. Hrmmm defy their CO and face court martial or do as they are told and get into a crappy situation dealing with crappy people. Having been in the military I’d have done what I was told and be thinking the whole time, “this freaking sucks”. Anthony makes a great point. Way to help out their own.

  5. Juanny says:

I just would have done a belly flop.

  6. kendra says:

no, no it doesn’t Abraham. your caption makes the reader assume as if you agree with the morons’ statements in the video. i’ve been around here long enough to know that’s not true, but that’s what it seems like at face value.

    • John Mahan says:

Agreed. Its ambiguous, but given the context I can see that its the camera man’s stupidity that outweighs.

  7. JB says:

I’m pretty sure at 1:42 someone quietly says, “The black guy can’t swim.” Dare I say racial stereotype?

  8. Elston Gunn says:

Wait, so this isn’t stupid because..

    1. The trucks were designed to drive through 12+ feet of water (at which they failed)

    2. The soldiers were just following orders (putting the blame on their COs)

I calls ‘em as I sees ‘em, and that was stupid.

    • Anthony says:

LOL, you’ve got one half-way valid point, and that was that the trucks didn’t make it through all that water. Which I’m sure it was impossible to tell how deep it was. Besides that, you do what you have to do to complete a mission. What they did was rescue lives. Did they lose one? I didn’t see that. Was your stupid ass in the water trying to show them how to do it? No. Did they freak out when things went wrong (like you did when you thought their exhaust was going under water, lol) or did they adapt and over come? Don’t be ashamed that you have done nothing with your life. Just don’t take it out on the men and women that have.

  9. Roger Messner says:

    this never happened.

    it’s all anti-American propaganda.

any jr. high kid worth their weight in a night of mt. dew could have faked this video…on a windows media platform even!

  10. Walt says:

I was in the military and this was still embarassingly stupid. One vehicle could have gone ahead to “test the waters” before the other blundered in as well.

Now we taxpayers will have to pay to get these vehicles repaired. Thanks.

  11. SeaDog says:

Smart or not, anything will float if it get’s enough water under it (see aircraft carrier, destroyer or cruise ship). So even though the trucks are tactical/high water vehicles, that becomes irrelevant in water this high. There is no possible way these were designed to drive “under” water which is what they are doing. Even Lockheed/Navistar/Grumman aren’t that good!

  12. CyrusBlades says:

yeah… the dude shooting this video’s really smart himself. hahaha loser!
