Bacon pancakes
Why I’ve never thought or heard of this I have no idea. But I intend to make up for lost time…

Here are the directions from the recipe card in the middle of the picture…
Rath Bacon Strip Pancakes are the tender little hot cakes you make by pouring Aunt Jemima Pancake batter over cooked-crisp slices of our flavory Iowa bacon. Then bake as usual.

It isn’t always better north of the (Iowa) border.
oh snap.
have i died and gone to heaven?
Putting crumbled bacon in waffle batter is my favorite.
Ooooooh that sounds so gooooooood. I think I got fatter just reading that…
I agree with the crumbled bacon or pieces of bacon. Same taste, but easier to eat!
Yum!
Thanks Aberham. There goes my diet.

Million-dollar idea: Put it on a stick and sell it at the State Fair.
This.
Actually I think you have heard of it before :)just about a year ago http://twentytwowords.com/2010/10/11/nothing-isnt-awesome-about-bacon-pancakes-and-baking-pies-into-a-cake/
Touché! Nice catch there Liz :)
Ha!
Well, apparently they didn’t make much of an impression.
Thanks for being such an attentive reader! :)
2 of my favs together my inner fat kid is coming out
wow glad I checked out this site,,never saw these before either…….hahaha
crumbled cooked maple or sage sausage sprinkled on top of pancakes after you flip them…INCREDIBLE :)
Aunt Jemima was based on minstrel shows that denigrated African-Americans.
DILLIGAF? Aunt jemima is wonderful.
Melissa: I think you are mistaken. Minstrel shows were white actors wearing black make-up in an unflattering way. The lady posing for the Aunt Jemima picture is clearly an African-American.
Um, who f#$%ing cares?
… because there certainly weren’t any dark-skinned cooks, right?
If you’re going to be indignant, at least get the racism straight.
Have you ever been to Al’s Breakfast in Dinkytown? They serve these along with the famous bacon-waffle.
