David Bowie hanging out on his first night ever in the United States, 1971

The photographer’s caption…

This was David Bowie’s first night (ever) in the United States. I am the one waving in the photo. David was great. He went to dinner with me, my brother and my parents. This photo was taken in my parent’s living room in Silver Spring, MD. Later that night he came to my house and spent the evening. Incredible memories for me.

When I was a little kid, I was terrified of David Bowie. This photo gave me a little shiver.

Yup, that was definitely the 70′s. My poor parents had that green & gold color scheme right up into the 90′s when they could afford to replace it. Awesome pic, though.

My first thought was, “Which one is David Bowie, and who is that woman with the two guys?”
