I’m curious who the “almost everyone” is that Ingrid Newkirk said found this picture of a chicken offensive.

Of all the people on this planet who apparently support PETA, I don’t think I’ve ever met one of them.
Seriously? Get lives PETA…
If PETA really believes in what they say they do, then they should start a campaign to stop all animals from devouring each other. They should gather up all living organisms into relatively-sized cages and feed them leaves. If they die, then so be it. That’s what PETA stands for. Bunch of absolute idiots.
I would love to see a PETA representative attempt to define the “E” in their initialism.

I’m a vegetarian and I despise PETA. They’re classist and misogynistic. They don’t even agree with seeing eye dogs. Seriosuly. They also euthanise 98% of the animals that come into their shelters. So yeah, they pretty much suck.
They also ragged on someone for swatting a fly and admonished Nintendo because Mario had a raccoon fur suit. Seriously, they’re effed in the heads.

I’m vegan, and am a part of a growing number of people who have given up on PETA, because they have gone way too far with their tactics of porn and general poor taste.

If PETA really wanted to accomplish something, they’d work for the ethical and humane treatment of animals before slaughter. There’s no way on God’s green earth they’re going to get everyone to give up eating meat. Better then, IMHO, to make meat production more ethical. My two cents.

Okay you guys all might not like PETA, but at least think about where your food has been as this directly affects your health. I shudder everytime I see someone drink a glass of milk, after being informed that every glass contains trace elements of blood, feces, urine…that adds up over a lifetime of “Got Milk?” I also have images of male baby chicks being dropped into a hopper to be ground up alive and then fed to their sister chicks when added to their food supply, burned into my brain. I didn’t even mean to do all this research, I just couldn’t stop myself once I had gotten started. DO you know what they do to a male baby calf once it is born on a dairy farm? Well in the factory farming industry..they rip it away from their mother upon birth where they drag or wheel barrow it away to be executed. They have a special device that shoots them in the head. All so we can take it’s mother’s milk. As a child, I was told that there was more than enough milk to feed both baby and humans when I asked, concerned that baby cows were going without. Today if I was to have a child, I would not not know what to tell her. Today’s demand has far exceeded the gentle human and animal equation. You feed, love, take care of these animals, and they will take care of us. Today it is no longer about them, but all about us. Therefore I cheerfully inform you that b/c of this shortsightedness we are now consuming food that has been in diseased, filthy, unholy conditions stuffed with hormones, steriods and antibiotics. Happy eating everyone.
Not all farms are the way you describe them to be. I’m not saying that every farm is good or equal but there are plenty of good meat and milk sources. To demonize the entire industry is wrong and is also completely unproductive. Action must be specifically directed at the people you believe are doing these things. Going around making blanket statements about an entire industry just makes you sound like a crazy fool.
I think he’s part of PETA… or, the world’s first PETA supporter.
Congratulations, you can make blank and vague statements to try and stand up for absolutely nothing that matters. If you want to support clean food, then become part of FDA, because they do 1000X more than PETA will ever do.
Cows and Chickens get horrible treatment. Males die at birth. That’s the truth in some places.
But the reality is, we need food. And humans being able to eat is infinitely more important than the pain and suffering of animals. Unnecessary cruelty should be avoided, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Animals are not our equals, so we eat them. It was never about them, it has always been about us trying do do what’s best for our species. That’s how nature works, how we are designed to function. Empathy for our intended food is the product of our extreme advancement so that most of our population lives such soft lives that they do not wish to adhere to the basic law of nature: kill and eat, or die.
If anything, it’s Peta and related who are going against the way it’s supposed to be.
So sharks somehow would recognize that you’re vegan and then not eat you?
The combined I.Q. of the Peta organization can’t be above 20.
