I was a teacher. Briefly. And this isn’t too terribly far from the truth.

Hilarious! I taught 9th grade English, and it’s safe to say that this never happened in my classroom. Apparently it happened with other teachers, because I heard stories from my coworkers who taught upperclassmen. These coworkers DID read the kids’ papers, but were floored by the audacity of students who wrote things like “It’s not like you’re actually gonna read this anyway!” in the middle of their papers.

I wrote “Mrs. Moore, are you actually reading this?” in the middle of a government paper in high school. I got the paper back with something like a 10% markdown with no other marks except the words, “Yes, I read this,” on the top.

Wow… this is funny, yet so very, very disturbing.

  4. I remember a teacher telling us that she had a glass of wine, stood at the top of the stairs and dropped the papers down the stairs to see where they landed – each step was a different grade!

I love Gerry Dee. His special on Comedy Central was hilarious, and I know this show will be too! Too bad it seems to only be on in Canada.
That thing about dropping the papers on steps is an old teacher gag. I wonder if anyone has ever actually done it. I’ve been tempted.
