Well, unlike popular belief, wild elephants are very hostile just like all other wild animals. He is lucky to be alive and that the elephant only gave him a warning slap.
Actually, elephants are not hostile — they just frighten easily, plus this guy was getting too close to the animal while it was eating! He should have known better to approach a wild animal anyway!
