Snipers at the Super Bowl
Pictures of a couple snipers and their guns overlooking Lucas Oil Stadium before the Super Bowl this past weekend are making the rounds today. They were posted by U.S. Tactical Supply, Inc.
There is, of course, some question as to the authenticity of these photos, but the idea of having sharpshooters as part of Super Bowl security is not new or secret. In an interview about security before last year’s big game, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told a reporter casually, “We got a lot of places for snipers in here”…

“my husband can’t throw the #&$! ball, catch the #(*$& ball AND watch for &*#$ terrorists!” – Giselle
You made me laugh.
yes. laughing. out loud.
NOW THAT’S FUNNY!!!
According to some sources, the pics they took were for the tripod manufacturer. During the game, they had spotting scopes or binoculars on the tripods.
Good thing none of the snipers were HUGE Patriots fans…
those snipers are VERY real. I live in NJ and I have seen snipers scoping people out at MetLife Stadium, so you know they had them @ the Super Bowl
Some of the shots look photoshopped.
Some people think this has just gone on for the last year or tow. WAKE UP.
The facts:
There are Sniper’s Nests (yes more the one) at every NFL stadium.
They are manned at every game and large event. There were more sniper working during the super bowl.
They are also at Pro Baseball Parks and every large event in the country (NYC New Years Parade).
The rifles are loaded and ready to fire. If something goes down the sniper would only have seconds to neutralize the subject no time to mount the rifle on a tripod or load it.
The Sniper Nests have been at games since the 1980′s.
These are officers doing their job to protect the public.
There will not going away, in fact the NFL requires they are there, along with all the police officers you see at the stadium. Even the owners don’t have a choice or control. If they don’t comply with the NFL rules the game can not be played.
So go and enjoy the game and have fun, unless you pull a gun out you are safe.
