Our dogs do similar things all the time. They often try to jump on the bed and we only recognize their attempt when the mattress shakes as they jump into it, not on it like they desired.
Looks like her feet slipped out from under her… it happens with cats, and makes hysterical videos xD

that cat didn’t overestimate its ability to make the jump, it clearly estimated it and determined it could make it…rather the cat underestimated the slipperiness of its jumping platform.
I feel so guilty for laughing so hard at this.
That’s 1 gone… 8 to go.

A couple days ago I was reaching down to pet my cat at the same time he decided to jump up on a counter. I basically slammed him into the ground – I could have even yelled “denied!” I felt horrible but he’s fine.
